David’s brilliant book makes us realize that we have gone through life seeing and adverting to only a very small proportion of our surroundings. It is a beautiful commentary on the words ‘Be still and know that I am Lord’.

  2. Will definitely acquire Look and be Mindful.

Thought of you today, David. In November 2013 I wrote a book off the top of my head in order to meet the NaNo challenge of writing at least 50,000 words during the month. I managed it, but at first I decided the effort wasn’t worth much. Now, I’m working to make it a bit of light reading and a possible air-travel read. Also the book might just have some value. I’d like to thank you and Kathleen on its ‘Acknowledgments’ page. Hope that’s okay. I think of you both fondly! Best regards, Dorothy

Great to hear from you. And am delighted that the book is coming to fruition. By all means mention us — we’d be honoured.

Hi David, just spotted you on the web. Did your novel course a few years back, completed the book I started there (after many drafts) and found an agent. You, very kindly, were one of my first followers on twitter – so you probably know that I’m being e-published now by Tirgearr Publishing. You’re acknowledged and thanked in the book, and I also thanked you in an online interview I did with Fiona McVie (the link is on my fb page). I wouldn’t have done it without the skills I learned on that course! Hope you’re keeping well. I won’t have a book launch, a lot of what I’m doing is online publicity, especially as it’s a first. All the best, Sharon.

Hi David. Congrats on your book. I will look for it later.
I saw your reply to Oliver. Rosemary (nee McAtavey) and I have happy memories of those old UCG Choir (Fintan) days when, as I remember, you were trigger-happy with your camera, eh? I am retired now after 40 years serving as a G.P. I am into creative writing. Interestingly, one of my short stories (which got 4th place in the Medical Writers’ Competition), had a paragraph about mindfulness. Small world!
    Very best wishes

      Hi Michael

Great to hear from you. And I too have wonderful memories of UCG. Even though I couldn’t sing for nuts, I managed to get accepted as photographer to the choir.. I have never stopped taking pictures, all over the world from USA to China. Take a look at http://www.LookAndGrowMindful.com to see 1,000 plus of those pictures.

Great that you have taken up creative writing. It is so incredibly fulfilling. We have been running the Killaloe Hedge-School of Writing for nearly 15 years, resulting in the publication of 100 plus books. Unfortunately my partner Kathleen and I have suspended operations for the past year, due to too much work, but may re-open this coming spring. To find out, watch http://www.killaloe.ie/khs.

My very best to Rosemary and all the McAtaveys. I remember them so well.
